Using this site

By reading this site or sending us a join request, you accept these terms. If you do not, the remedy is simple: do not use the site.

These terms are between you and the individual named under Who you are dealing with, further down this page.

What this site is

OneTomorrow publishes a civic charter and an argument for public integrity. It is a statement of principle and intent. It is not legal, financial, political, or professional advice, and nothing here creates a relationship in which you should act on our words without your own judgement.

We write about governance, corruption, and reform. Those passages are opinion and advocacy, offered in good faith and open to challenge.

Fair use of the site

• Do not use the site to break the law or to harm, harass, or defame anyone.
• Do not attempt to breach, overload, or probe the site or its hosting.
• Do not submit anything through the join form that you have no right to share.
• Do not misrepresent OneTomorrow, or imply we endorse you, without our agreement.

What you send us

When you send a join request you are giving us permission to read it, store it, and reply to it. That is all. We do not publish it, quote it, or pass it on without asking you first.

Please do not send confidential material, personal data about other people, or anything whose disclosure would put you at risk. This is an ordinary website with an ordinary inbox, not a secure channel for sensitive disclosures.

The site's content

The words, design, and code are published openly at github.com/colinatwood/onetomorrow.today under the licence stated in that repository. Read it, quote it, translate it, and build on it in line with that licence. The OneTomorrow name and logo are ours, and using them to suggest an endorsement we have not given is not permitted.

Links to other sites

We link to reports and sources we consider worth reading. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they publish or how they treat your data. A link is a citation, not an endorsement of everything at the other end.

No guarantee

The site is offered as it is. We try to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current on any given day. To the extent the law allows, we exclude liability for loss arising from your use of the site or your reliance on anything published here. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes

We may revise these terms. The date at the top will change, and every revision is recorded in the public commit history.

Nothing on this site should be read as implying an institution behind it that does not exist. If that changes, this page changes with it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine and the federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute belongs to the state or federal courts sitting in Maine.

If you are a consumer outside the United States, this does not remove protections that the law of your own country gives you and does not allow you to waive.
